A guy has to have emergency surgery because he scarred his eyes in a lab accident. Unfortunately for him, his doctor gets his organs from unwilling donors. This time, the doctor had a werewolf killed and took the beast’s eyes for his patient. The werewolf curse is passed on to his patient via the eyes. Hence, “Eyes of the Werewolf”. The werewolf goes around killing people as cheaply as possible with only a horny, large breasted nurse and a dwarf to comfort him. Guess which friend he spends the most time with?

I rented this movie because I have a manic need to see every werewolf movie ever made. This was one that slipped under the radar. I now see why it slipped under the radar. “Eyes of the Werewolf” is a very low budget wolf man flick. The werewolf likes to bite people in the neck and then chew on their entrails. It all sounds nice and gory but when you see it you’ll know that the money didn’t go to the special effects. They weren’t that special. However, “Eyes of the Werewolf” is a straight forward monster flick even if it was made for $500. At least it didn’t try to get too fancy. It couldn’t afford to. Thank God they had some extra money to spend on the hot nurse.

“Eyes of the Werewolf” would pretty much be a forgettable flick if it were not for the presence of Stephanie Beaton. Beaton is the large breasted nurse who falls in love with the wolf man and must have sex with him right away. At least the filmmakers were smart enough to recognize their best asset and exploit it for all that its worth. Beaton has two long sex scenes, one in a hospital bed and another on a couch, that linger on her breasts for as long as possible. She also has another large breasted woman hit on her at the end but they never consummate their budding relationship. Now, if I was making this movie, I would have had the two of them in bed and then her werewolf lover would break down the door and attack in a jealous rage. That would have been great. Alas, it was not to be as the werewolf was more melancholy than enraged. That kind of sums up my feelings about “Eyes of the Werewolf”

It was directed by Anthony Waller and starred Tom Everett Scott and Julie Delpy. It follows the general concept of the 1981 film An American Werewolf in London.

The title of this film has a bit of history; when production of the original London film ran into trouble with British Equity, director John Landis, having scouted locations in Paris, considered moving the production to France and changing the title of his film to An American Werewolf in Paris.

In the opening scene, a man is seen under attack, almost managing an escape from the Parisian sewers before an unseen creature pulls him back. Meanwhile, tourist Andy McDermott is seeing the sights of Paris with his friends Brad and Chris. When Serafine Pigot leaps off the Eiffel Tower just before Andy is about to do a bungee-jump, he executes a mid-air rescue. She vanishes into the night, leaving Andy intrigued — and also unaware that she is the offspring of the couple seen 16 years ago in the earlier film.

Andy tracks her down and asks her for a date. They attend a night club called “Club de la Luna” (Moon’s club). It was called like that, because that night was a full moon in the sky. The owners of the club were actually members of a werewolves’s society, wich wanted to kill and eat all the guests. Serafine told Andy to run away (in that scene, Serafine is seen transforming into a werewolf). When Andy is running it is seen a werewolf chasing him and when Andy is about to escape, it bites him and Andy faints. The next day, he wakes up in Serafine’s bed . When he awakens, he has toothmarks on his leg and is informed that he’s making a transformation into a werewolf, confirmed by his sudden taste for raw steaks. Serafine explains that her stepfather (seen in the film’s opening scene) has been working on a drug to control her werewolf transformations. The real cure lied in killing and eating the heart of the werewolf that bit him.

While on an expedition in Nepal, a photo-journalist (Michael Paré) and his girlfriend are attacked by a werewolf that kills her and savagely bites him. The researcher moves back to the Pacific Northwest to live in isolation with his lycanthropy until his well-intentioned sister (Mariel Hemingway) invites him to stay with her and her son (Mason Gamble) to get over the grief of losing his lover. Things soon begin to go bad, especially when the family dog, a big German Shepherd named Thor, just can’t accept the werewolf among them.

Archaeologists working in Arizona find a werewolf (warwelf) skeleton. The ill-tempered foreman, Yuri (played by Jorge Rivero) gets into a fight with his crew, Tommy, Joel, and Bill. In the course of the fight, Tommy is scratched by the werewolf skeleton. This greatly alarms his fellow diggers, especially Joel (played by Joe Estevez). The head archaeologist, Noel, details what he knows of werewolf behavior, which he bases on American Indian mythology. Here the werewolf, or yetiglanchi takes on strange behavior including “sleeping nose to anus.”

Tommy is taken to the hospital, where he begins showing signs of lycanthropy, finally turning into a werewolf and attacking people. Joel and Bill arm themselves with shotguns and silver bullets and succeed in subduing Tommy.

The scene now shifts to a house in suburban Flagstaff. A writer named Paul Niles (Federico Cavalli) arrives. At a party, he is introduced to one of the archaeologists, Natalie Burke (Adrianna Miles) and takes a romantic interest in her. Yuri is jealous and behaves badly – he is expelled from the party by his boss Noel. Yuri walks to the laboratory and conspires to create a new werewolf: he drugs a security guard (played by director Tony Zarindast) and injects him with blood drawn from Tommy. A new werewolf is indeed created, but the werewolf makes the unfortunate choice of driving itself home, and it suddenly crashes into some oil drums and dies in the ensuing fire.

The following day, Paul visits the lab at Natalie’s invitation. He gets into a fight with Yuri, who attacks him with the werewolf skull. Paul is scratched by the skull, and now it is his turn to start showing symptoms of lycanthropy. He starts attacking people at night, but remembers little of it. Finally, Natalie and Yuri spy him changing. Yuri plots to capture Paul and take him to the lab, Natalie tries to help him. In a murky chase sequence, Paul, in werewolf form, kills Yuri. He and Natalie (now a werewolf, herself, with no explanation as to how she became one although the trailer of the film hints at sex scene not shown in the film) reunite at the end of the movie.

It was co-written by Jim Harrison and Wesley Strick and won a Saturn Award for their screenplay.

Will Randall (Jack Nicholson), a mild-mannered, middle-aged publishing editor, is fired from his job by a wealthy business tycoon, Raymond Alden (Christopher Plummer), who takes over his publishing house and replaces him with Randall’s own protege Stewart Swinton (James Spader), who also happens to be having an affair with Randall’s wife Charlotte (Kate Nelligan). However, a few days earlier, Randall was bitten by what he believes to be a wolf while driving home on a snowy country road one night; he soon starts feeling rejuvenated, revitalized, and more aggressive and becomes more assertive in fighting for his job back. Eventually, to his horror, Randall also realises that he was taking on the characteristics of a wolf.

However, with the help of Alden’s beautiful, headstrong daughter Laura (Michelle Pfeiffer), he sets out for the new life ahead of him. Randall’s first escapade as a wolf takes place at Laura’s countryside cottage, where he wakes up in the middle of the night and predatorily hunts down a deer. In the morning he finds himself on the bank of a forest stream, dunks his head in water and realises he has blood all over his face and hands. He then drives back to the city in a state of confused trepidation, his alarm at his animal characteristics leading him to ignore conventional medical tests.

Instead, he visits an Indian healer – Dr. Vijay Alezias (Om Puri) who gives him an amulet that is supposed to protect him from turning completely into a wolf. Dr. Alezias asks Randall to bite him as a return favour, as Alezias himself does not have long to live. On being asked by Randall whether he would ‘prefer demonization to death’, Dr. Alezias replies that it would be a boon rather than a bane. He tells Will that he is a good man at heart and so has nothing to fear. Dr. Vijay Alezias also explains to Will that sometimes one does not even need to be bitten to change. Sometimes the mere passion of the wolf inside of them can transform them.

As his professional life is restored, Randall, in his aggressive avatar, fires his young nemesis Stewart, deepening each’s hatred for the other. Later, Will inadvertently bites Stewart, who becomes a wolf as well. Stewart ends up raping and murdering Will’s wife, in an attempt to frame Randall and seize back Randall’s job at the publishing house.

Randall, meanwhile, shattered at his wife’s murder, and thinking that it was his alter-ego state that killed her, goes back with Laura to her cottage, where he agrees to be locked up in the barn. Laura then gets a call from the police detective investigating Will’s wife’s murder, and learns that it was a canine attack that killed her. Alarmed that Will might be the unknowing perpetrator, she goes alone to the police station to find out more. There she runs into Stewart, who makes a pass at her while making it clear that Randall was as good as convicted. She hurries off from the station, making arrangements for Will and her to leave the country.

Stewart, realising that she had gone back, follows her to the cottage. After a brief struggle in the barn, where Will is locked in, he tries to rape her, but Randall frees himself from his stall, and, in werewolf form (same as his foe), they battle to the death. The evil werewolf Stewart is then shot to death by Laura. Randall, meanwhile, turns into a complete wolf and runs off into the forest. The last scene is a close-up of her face fading into dark, lupine eyes, preceded with previously-shown shots of an animal running wildly through the forest. Laura’s passionate love for Will allows her to join him in his new life.

It is the seventh and final film in the cult classic The Howling series, directly succeeding Howling VI: The Freaks.

The film ties together the previous three sequels, Howling IV: The Original Nightmare, Howling V: The Rebirth, and Howling VI: The Freaks, featuring characters and footage from each.

A number of vicious murders occur in a small California town after a motorcycle-riding stranger arrives. The gruesome slayings look disturbingly like the work of a werewolf. Meanwhile, in another nearby town, police are hot on the trail of a killer they believe is a werewolf.

Response to this film has been overwhelmingly bad. The biggest criticism of the film is that there are hardly any werewolves to be seen, and when there is one, it’s apparent that it’s an obvious Halloween mask. Other criticisms were scenes being taken straight from Howling IV, Howling V and Howling VI. The “actors” are just simply locals living in the small desert town where this was filmed, basically playing themselves sitting around telling jokes and drinking beer.

The film did good business in the Direct-To-Video market when it was released.

A frontier woman pursues a card-playing rogue until his constant rejections convince her that he’ll never want to be with her. Then she marries the quiet boy next door, who turns out to be a werewolf.

The werewolf scenes were so badly lit that the werewolf is very difficult to see. Thus, it is hard to decide whether this film is about an actual werewolf or only about a man suffering from clinical lycanthropy.
